Thanks a Million!

Well folks, it's official. The Edmondson 2010 campaign has passed the million dollar fundraising mark. Linda and I are proud of this accomplishment and humbled by the support we have received from friends old and new from cities and towns across the state.
So far, it's been a great run! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your part in making it so.
While I recognize the fundraising aspect of the campaign is important, it is truly my least favorite part of running for office. Hands down the best part of campaigning is the opportunity it provides to travel the state meeting new people and catching up with old friends.
I enjoy receiving feedback and questions and hearing about the concerns and successes of families like yours and mine. Campaigning provides endless opportunities to learn about what's happening in the lives of our fellow Oklahomans.
This campaign is also providing learning opportunities within the campaign itself. When I first began campaigning for my dad in the fifties, stump speeches were given from the tailgates of pick-up trucks. Now, the Internet provides new ways to reach out to people not just across the state, but across the country. Applications like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube make it relatively easy and inexpensive to make our message known to an endless audience.
The campaign is using this "new media," and I am learning to adapt to this new way of campaigning. Still, it's not as enjoyable as hitting the good, old-fashioned campaign trail, and I hope to shake hands with many of you along the way.
In the meantime, thank you for your dedication to this race. We have momentum it seems, and that's due in no small part to your support. I look forward to working with you to continue this good fight.
